Will Myspace Survive?

Sometimes a website is created with the best of intentions, but ultimately falls by the wayside when something better comes along. In some cases, a website can become so unpopular or neglected that it might as well cease to exist at all. In cases like that, it might actually be better for the owner to simply remove the site from the Web and let it be fondly remembered by anyone who cares to do so.

Myspace is a great example of a social networking site that has declined over time. While this was once one of the most heavily trafficked sites by people who have a social agenda on the Internet, today its use is primarily by bands and people who simply prefer it to playing Farmville.  While Myspace might not be going anywhere right this moment, one has to wonderwhat will continue to power the site’s survival, let alone a continued purpose. If a website serves very few people, how can it hope to survive over the long haul?

The most likely way Myspace, Friendster and other fallen social networking websites are probably going to be able to survive is through evolving into an increasingly niched existence. While being a general website is no longer as viable an option as it once was because a small number of hugely successful websites have dominated that concept, niches still do well. If Myspace can successfully repurpose itself as some manner of niched website and properly serve its visitors’ wants and needs that way, it may be able to continue onward, and it may even grow itself into something of a cult phenomenon.

The New Must-Have Gadget

The latest thing in gadgetry is the new tablet technology. There are several features that make them much more desirable than laptops, notebooks, and sometimes even many cell phones.

Tablets vs. Notebooks

Tablets provide some different technology that makes them preferable for people working with a lot of text. Text can be manipulated more easily and directly with a stylus instead of having to type or click a mouse. This makes it easier to move things around, add to or delete from what is seen on the screen. This is especially convenient during lectures for both the teacher and student. Students can also have textbooks on their handheld device, which would make the backpack lighter.

Tablets vs. Cell Phones

The tablets are a great convenience over regular cell phones; they even have advantages over Smartphones. If you use a GPS very often, you will find it easier to use on a Tablet. You will have better interface with the Internet for all of those needs such as Facebook or other social sites. There are tablets that, when combined with a Smartphone, act much the same as either a touchscreen phone or a laptop.

Tablets vs. Laptops

Having a tablet at your disposal probably won’t completely replace your other gadgets, but it can really make life easier. The smaller size is likely the winning feature of the tablets. With the WiFi connect-ability and small size, they can go places that you wouldn’t want to carry your laptop. Tablets also make possible actual signatures. They also make art higher quality and easier with the stylus and variety of colors.

How to Earn a Living Online

An example of a synopsis of an infomercial wit...

Image via Wikipedia

A lot of people think that the businesses putting up late night infomercials claiming to be able to make thousands of dollars per month while working from home are simply scams. While it isn’t possible to substantiate every claim ever made in an infomercial, you don’t need to buy any kind of info product to make money online. It has nothing to do with selling a product of your own, although many online entrepreneurs do so.

You can make your living online through filling client needs. While it might initially seem like going online and looking for jobs is too easy, the fact that many people online are too busy playing to think of making money makes for a lot of openings. Right now, the Internet is booming, and your skills can be a nice side income if you aren’t afraid to work. Then, when you’ve made some money, you can invest it through peer lending or into the stock market. The entire thing is legal, and while making a decent living through manual online labor isn’t easy, it is fairly simple and straightforward.

The major trick to earning money online isn’t about having a great idea. Some people make a decent income simply through writing. Every day new websites are built, and existing websites are overhauled to be better. If you have graphic design, coding or writing skills, you can help the owners of these sites to grow their online businesses. In some cases, a freelancer with a robust client base can do exceedingly well without ever having to commute anywhere. You need only find a need and fill it.
